Planting seeds of sovereignty.

The Humboldt Foundation believes that, together, we can resource possibility, power, and the conditions for lasting sovereignty.

We resource possibility, power, and sovereignty.

We support ideas, people, and organizations that shift power toward those closest to the work. Our ecosystem brings together nonprofits, philanthropic partners, and movement leaders to grow sovereignty at local, national, and global scale.

Big change is relational.

Systems shift when resources, trust, and decision-making move closer to communities. We invest in work that lives at the intersections of bodily autonomy and identity, race and justice, and people and planet. Our three focus areas guide how we show up, listen, and move resources.

Queering Anatomy

We support futures where non‑normative bodies, identities, and ways of being are valued—not pathologized. This work centers autonomy, self-determination, and the right to live beyond binaries.

Symbiosis & Reciprocity

We invest in work that honors the intrinsic worth of the natural world. We look for earth-centered approaches that weave care, interdependence, and regeneration into daily everyday life.

Reparations

We back efforts that move resources, authority, and opportunity along racial lines toward equity and repair. We imagine a future where difference is embraced and justice can flourish.

We fund work rooted in lived experience and accountable to the communities it serves.
