What We Fund

The Humboldt Foundation resources organizations, movements, and collaborative efforts advancing the diffusion of sovereignty. We don't simply fund programs. We invest in ecosystems of change across our three focus areas: Queering Anatomy, Reparations, and Symbiosis & Reciprocity.

Community-Centric Leadership

We prioritize organizations whose leadership reflects and is accountable to the communities they serve. Lived experience is not supplementary; it is foundational.

Grassroots Collaboration

We fund collaborative efforts that advance grassroots movements, recognizing that lasting change is built collectively, not imposed from above.

Cross-Sectional Impact

We seek missions that integrate multiple focus areas: work that understands sovereignty, equity, and ecological stewardship as deeply interconnected.

We are drawn to partners who center autonomy, agency, and self-determination in their work — those who operate with an ecosystemic perspective and understand that capital is one of many currencies driving change. We seek organizations that value relationships, trust, and collective wisdom as core infrastructure, and that are committed to locally anchored, regenerative impact.
